It's the lone survivor from the Calif. poppies that were started from seed a year ago. Single digit temperatures and inches of snow were not able to curb this plant's enthusiasm for another year in the Natural state.
The poppies were expected to be annuals, so this is a nice surprise. Another planting area will be started in a few weeks, with the hope that this year's crop will be an improvement over last year.
